Our Kafé

1978 - The Begining

Eugenio Bosch began planting coffee in the land that had been part of the family for over 100 years.  His journey, filled with vision and hard work, led to a flourishing plantation that today is known as one of Fraijanes’ best.

1991 - The Origin of Purpose

Amid Guatemala’s civil war, a young pre-med student named Norman Poorman traveled to Santo Tomás. What began as a simple mission trip planted a lasting seed — he didn’t just encounter coffee fields and their growers; he felt a deep, lifelong calling to serve this land. That initial encounter marked the beginning of a transformative journey.

2019 - A Vision with Impact Is Born

Norman and his wife, Angel, founded United Rescue Alliance (U.R.A.), a humanitarian organization that empowers communities through sustainable solutions. Their commitment to social transformation and development deepened their connection to Guatemala — this time, through coffee as a powerful engine of hope.

2020 – Coffee as a Bridge

U.R.A. and the Bosch family — coffee producers with generations of experience in Fraijanes — came together to redefine the coffee supply chain. Together, they launched TheOne Kafé, a business model built on traceability, quality, and purpose: to make visible the face behind every bean and create a shared experience from origin to cup.

2021 – Transparency as the Standard

Peter Smichenko, with a background in coffee economics and a passion for traceability, joined the project. Thanks to his leadership, the first partnership was secured with Finca Pachuj in Sololá — a farm renowned for its high-scoring coffee. Every bag tells a story: origin, cultivation method, and verifiable data powered by blockchain technology.

A Full-Circle Moment

While reviewing the first traceability report, they discovered that the coffee came from Santo Tomás, Sololá — the very place where Norman’s calling began in 1991. A powerful symbol that every cup of TheOne Kafé is not just a product, but a story that connects the past, present, and future.

2023 – New Markets

The first harvest of Finca San Antonio was exported to the USA. This marked an important milestone for the the Bosch’s farm. That same year Finca San Antonio was awarded 3rd place for the region of Fraijanes by Guatemalas National Coffee Association (ANACAFÉ).

Every Cup of TheOne Kafé Tells a Story

It’s not just high-quality coffee; it’s a bridge between communities, an act of justice for producers, and a celebration of Guatemala’s resilient spirit. Buying this coffee means becoming an active part of a real movement for transformation.
